The Wordspaces Poetry Writing Competition

We recommend all entrants read the rules carefully before entering. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us at enquiry@thewordspaces.com

Poems

  • All poems must have a title and the length must not exceed 25 lines
  • Poems can be on any subject with a ‘Theme – Nature’
  • Poems must be in English
  • Poems must be the entrant’s original work
  • Entries must not have been published, self-published, published on a website or made public on social media, broadcast or featured before 25th April 2022 (Monday)
  • There is no limit on the number of entries a single entrant can make
  • All poems must be accompanied by a fully completed entry form

Eligibility

The contest is open to Malaysians age 7 years old and above with the following categories:

  • Junior (7-12 years old)
  • Intermediate (13-17 years old)
  • Senior (18 years old and above)

Parents or Guardians can submit on behalf of their children who ages 7-15 years old

Fees

This is a free contest. No entry fee is required

Deadline

  • Poems must be received by Monday 25th April 2022
  • Submit your poem here or alternatively email to thewordspaces@gmail.com with a subject line: SUBMISSION NATURE [NAME]

Judges

  • The Wordspaces reserves the right to change the judging panel without notice and withhold prizes if, in the judges’ opinion, such an action is justified
  • The decision of the judges is final and no correspondence will be entered into
  • Entries not complying with competition rules will be disqualified

Prizes

  • Top 3 winners of each category will receive prizes from The Wordspaces
  • Top 5 poems of each category will be published in The Wordspaces website
  • All participants will receive an e-certificate

Winners

  • Prize winners will be notified by the end of April 2022. All winners will be expected to provide a biography and photograph
  • The copyright of each poem remains with the author. However, authors of the winning poems, by entering the competition, grant The Wordspaces the right in perpetuity to publish and/or broadcast their poem

Copyright

Copyright remains with the author, but The Wordspaces reserves the right to have entries used for publicity purposes at any stage in the future.
